Dear All;
Actually when I was trying to connect the vCenter server using vsphere at that time I'am encountered issue with error timeout.
Since I experienced above issue 3 to 4 times I restarted VMware vCenter Services. After doing that the vCenter service is not coming up.
May I know is there any fashion to start the vCenter services as below so that I can get my vCenter services up and running.
Request you to please help for the same.

How to rename local datastores of ESXi 5.0 hosts.
Is that simple; From vSphere Client > Right click local datastore > Rename?
Or host needs to be in maintenance mode, or brought down, something like that?

I want to generate a report through which i can check which all VMs are updated with VMtools and which are not. Currently ESXi 5.1 is being used in my environment.

this is a home vmware host. i run ESXi off USB drive.
i created a guest today and went to install vmware-tools and this message was returned:

i ssh'd into the host and there is isoimages -> /productLocker/vmtools listed in red. listed but doesn't seem to exist.
a few days ago i created a windows vm and installed the vmware-tools fine.
not sure what happened. the house had a power outage but i thought i shut the servers down fine.
do i need to reinstall this ESXi version? if i do, will mt current vm's still run?

in VMware Workstation V. 10 you are able to connect to a another VMware Workstation or an ESX-/Vcenter Server.
Will it now be possible to connect to VMware Fusion 7 too? In Fusion 6 it isn't, sadly.

We have a few different domains, and don't have a good track record of keeping track of which servers are on what. The question is: Is there an easy way to extract this information using PowerCLI? I consulted the help files but did not see anything that was an obvious answer.

Im looking for some documentation on capacity model on vCHS. Im not sure how do we calculate the vCPU since we purchasing pod's and CPU is GHz while deploying VM is by vCPU so Im not sure how to calculate it? how many GHz in 1 vCPU?
I googled it, went to vCHS documentation and didn't find any paper that explain how to calculate it...

I tried the same constellation in Parallels-9 and there it works out of the Box.

I have just rolled out vCloud 5.5 and vSphere 5.5 and have struck an issue that re-occurs every 13 days after a physical host reboot.
When trying to connect to a VM console using either [vCD/Web Client/c# Client] I get the following errors:
1. Blank Screen
2. Occasionally MKS malformed response from server
3. Unable to connect to the MKS: Connection terminated by server
I have tried Migrating the VM to another host made no difference, restarting the management agents on the host made no difference, Rebooting the host
and migrating the VM back to host fixed the issue. Suspect a bug in vSphere 5.5 as all [3] host had identical problems. So far I have struck this issue twice and
my servers have been up for 7 days and expect the 3rd occurrence to occur 13/11/2013 ;(
Issue started 16/10 08:30am [first noticed]

I have also logged the call with HP as we have software support with them and they mentioned that a number of sites have similar issues and a call has been place with VMware for further investigation

If I have two hosts in the same cluster (A + B) each with internal storage. Can I use vSphere Replication to replicate machines running on host (A) local storage to a vSphere Replication Appliance I deploy on host (B) local storage?
Hi, I have taken over the current set up by 2 different vendors. We have only 1 Dell Blade Chassis with the set up :
- 6 Dell blades running ESXi 5.1.0 1753533 on vCenter-DC (12 Std CPU license, running 12 CPUs)
- 2 Dell blades running ESXi 5.1.0 1753533 on vCenter-VDI (50 User licenses)
- The 2 vCenters are VMs running off 2 OS in "data center" controlled by vCenter-PRD
- Each Dell blade Server has 2 CPUs
Is there a way to combine the 2x VDI blades into vCenter-DC ?
That means to make it such that vCenter-DC will have 8 Dell Blades Running ESXi 5.1.0 ?

I want to run Post synchronization script can add my %COMPUTERNAME% in the specific domain group with the simple batch script below ...

When I run this script on my Parent VM it works fine. The echo command is just for validations, if i can't see the file C:\test.txt = script failed.
I use a Automated Desktop pools non-persistent
There is no clear documentation on how and when the custom script are run that you can specify in the wizard. So does anyone can help me
Is the Post synchronization script is run after the VM is joined to Domain ?
Is the Post synchronization script is executed with the domain administrator account use by QuickPrep ?
What kind of script can be run, VB, batch file, etc.. ?
Are there specific logs for QuickPrep ?
When editing the new pool create previously the fields "Post synchronization script" is empty, why ? Looks like it does not save the value I entered in the fields

Hello!
We try to roll out Linked Clones Windows7 VDI with View 4.5. To change some things (static host route and resetting WSUS SID) we work with QuickPrep and the post synchronisation script (we called it vdipost.bat). This script is located under c:\ Unfortuanally..this script is not working with Windows7 VDI (same script in a Windows XP Pool worked like a charm).
It seems there is a rights problem under Win7.. this script has to be run with administrator rights..but how can we do this? We dont like the runas thing because Password Information in clear text isn't a good idea we think. The checkbox "Run as administrator" in the settings of the script is greyed out 
How did you solved this problem?
