I'm running composer and linked clones. I want to be able to use a script when a new machine has been clond. I have a VBS script and a Bta-file on the parent image. This is the content of the BAT file:

cls
cscript c:\windows\addcomputer.vbs
I have attached a PIC from the pool configuration in Vmview Manager. The script doesn't run when a new machine is cloned.
When a new machine is ready, I can log on to it and run the BAT file. Then everything works fine.
Any suggestions?

Simple question: run any version of Windows in a Fusion VM. Use a Magic | Mighty mouse which supports horizontal scrolling on the Mac but not in the host VM.
How does one implement this in a VMWare VM?
I believe Parallels supports this, so why not VMWare?

I've created several win2012 R2 server two from template and two from a DVD installation all have the same network card E1000 and are on the same routed network. For odd reasons the two created form the template loos network connection very second day. After disabling the network and enabling the network it works fine again. Any ideas?

When i use VimPotType.createTemporaryDirectoryInGuest(ManagedObjectReference,vmObject,NamePasswordAuthentitation,"","","") function to create a temp directory in guest i am getting GuestPermissionDenied exception.The strange thing is that it was working fine and all of a sudden it started throwing this exception. Now everytime i call this api it thorws GuestPermissionDenied exception.

-NamePasswordAuthentitation's user is a ActiveDirectory user.The user can login in the guest.

Hi,
I'm using VMWare Player 6.0.3 for running a 64 Bit Ubuntu machine under Windows 8.1. When I start a Virtualbox Vagrant machine (64 Bit Debian) inside the Ubuntu machine, I get Windows bluescreens approximately every half an hour with a CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION error. I have already read that there were such errors in earlier versions of VMWare Player that have been fixed, however the problem still exists in the latest version given my setup. Is there any possible fix for this problem?

Hello, I have a problem on my Windows Server 2003. I have 2 partition which are C and D. C is my system and D is my data. My C is running out of space and I want to extend it. But I can't do that with the third partition tools because it is unable to extend to the system hard drive. What should I do ? Please help me..

Power was cut from my ESXi4.1 hyper-visor........I put back in the ESXi4.1 cd and booted chose the repair option.
It told me tat it also found a Datastore on the same HD that I just repaired, but that the system would be put in a special state and I should contact support at that point.
I have been looking to find out what needs to be done, but so far nothing concise that fits my installation of esxi4.1.
Can anyone offer some advice, help, or tell me where to look to find a solution. Essentially I want to recover the VM on th DAS harddrive.

I am using VMware webclient 5.1 and trying to perform a vmotion using host and datastore together. Doing so I am unable to select destination as datastore cluster in the webclient. It only gives option to select a datastore unlike in the vmware client where I can select the destination as datastore cluster.
But in a vmware client i wont be able to perform vmotion for both host and datastore together.
Is this a limitation in webclient? or am i missing something here...

I have a virtual machine with 4 virtual disks (e.g. 1.vmdk, 2.vmdk, 3.vmdk, and 4.vmdk) all located on one SAN volume (e.g. SANVOL03). How can I move just one of the virtual disks (e.g. 3.vmdk) from it's current SAN volume to another (e.g. from SANVOL03 to SANVOL04) without powering off the VM? This is in vsphere 4.1

I installed a new ESXI 5.5 Update 1 . This server is connected to a SAS Raid System with 15 TB. The VM-datastore includes all of the 15 TB. When I start some copy activities on the ESXI (copy a VM or start a VM-Maschine and copy under Windows) the VM-Server is loosing the connection to the datastore (all path) after a while. After a restart of the ESXI the Datastore is reconnected without a restart of the Raid System.
Does anybody know what's probably going wrong.

Ich hab hier momentan ein kleines Problem und ich hoffe dass mir hier jemand weiterhelfen kann. Meine VMware Workstation ( Version 9.01 build 894247) wird unter Suse Linux (Version 11.4) mit Kernel Version 2.6.37.6-24-desktop betrieben. Seit kurzem hab ich das Problem, dass sich VMware aus unerklärlichen Gründen aufhängt. (Tritt auf beim anlegen neuer VMs, straten von bestehenden VMs oder einfach mal so nach Lust und Laune). Ich bin über jeden Tipp dankbar.

Ho notato che nei miei host ci sono diversi tentativi di accesso ssh che fortunatamente, fino ad adesso, non sono andati a buon fine ... Mi sono documentato per disabilitare l'account di root ma leggendo in giro i consigli sono di non disabilitarlo, anche se la password attuale è abbastanza articolata, mi piacerebbe avere una sicurezza maggiore non basata solo sulla fortuna.
Ogni suggerimento in merito è ben gradito...

I have to migrate a few VMs from one physical data center to another and each physical site has their own vCenter with about 25ms of latency between the two physical sites. I was thinking of mounting the new data center LUNs via iSCSI to both sites and do a Storage vMotion while on the old data center. During a maintenance window, I would then turn off/unregister the VM from the old data center and register it in the new data center. Question is - have any of you done iSCSI over the WAN? If so, what was the latency threshold before you ran into issues?

I have an issue connecting to ESXi hosts. I have two ESXi 5.1 hosts and installed some RHEL 6 on that. I installed vCenter 5.5 to manage.
I can connect to host and can manage all RHEL 6 VMs without any issue.
When I add those hosts to vCenter5.5, I can connect without any issue, but when I power on RHEL vm, the host automatically and straight away disconnect and cannot manage anymore.
Is the compatibility issue? between RHEL6 and vCenter 5.5? or anything else?

We are using vcenter converter (5.0 & 5.1).
We want to converter our Linux Machine (CentOS) into VM. vCenter Converter Standalone is installed on Windows Server.
After providing all the credential on source & destination, we face the issue in drives. We not able to view 500GB LUN which is assigned to Linux Machine. All the local drives we able to view.
Any way to view 500 GB LUN.

When i try to deploy NSX controller , It was failing with timeout error and error shows that dvport 3 was disconnected. Sometimes it shows dvport 2 was disconnected.
I am trying to deploy NSX controller on same port group of NSX manger in dvswitch. I have changed the dvswitch MTU to 1600. am i missing something from the configuration. Can some one help me on this.

Tengo un servidor DELL Poweredge R410 en el cual quiero montar un ESXi 5.5, pero no soy capaz.
Tanto si monto el RAID con la aplicación de DELL como si lo intento montar con otra aplicación SAS, el instalador del ESXi no me detecta los discos, en ninguno de los dos casos.
Los discos son idénticos de 500 GB, mismo fabricante, mismo modelo....
¿Alguna idea?
