Hi to all, I'm trying to deploy a Ubuntu VDI; all works fine, when I create a full-clone of a master template it takes the all network configuration from DHCP server and it can access to internet but horizon still remains in customizing status and I see the guest network status as screen attach. Paging file
I'm running a Win7 Pro 64-bit host, with a Win7 Pro 32-bit guest. I have a 3-monitor setup, with the desktop extended to all 3 screens. The guest has 8Gb allocated to it, even though Win 7 32-bit only supports ~4Gb - it seems to perform better that way - and the host has the remaining 24Gb.
What is the optimal configuration for the guest's paging file? Is better to:
- Have the paging file on its own partition, and if so, recommended min & max size?
- Have the paging file on the partition with the OS, and, if so recommended min & max size?
- Let Windows "automatically manage paging file size for all drives"?
I am posing this question because I'm continuing to have serious stability issues in Unity Mode, as previously detailed in my Jan 22, 2020 post. Any help will be much appreciated.

Adding Network Mounts to MacOS
Trying to get Network Mounts I have setup in a User Profile for MacOS, but they arent appearing on the Operating System when you login. The Mac is added to our Domain and enrolled in WorkSpace One. Other areas of the user profile are applying properly and the device profile is applying as well. Its just the network mounts that arent showing up. The mounts in the profile are listed using smb://server/folder and I can access any of them if I manually go to GO - Connect to Server and type the path in....but I do get a prompt telling me I am trying to connect to the path, which I just click connect...
This is a Mac running High Sierra, but I've tried it with Mojave as well. I've tried them as Network Mounts and Authenticated Network Mounts with no luck

Unattended VMtools failing on Windows Enterprise 1909
Tried a variety of versions of tools VMware-tools-windows-10.1.0-4449150, VMware-tools-windows-10.3.5-10430147.iso and VMware-tools-windows-11.0.1-14773994.iso and i'm getting suck during the VMtools unattended install with a new install of Windows 1909 Enterprise with "Setup failed to install..."

Migrating VM to Another Network - Inaccessible
Hi All,
I tried some searching first but didn't see an answer to my question.
I am building a backup system with one VM running Veeam and another with a DC on it. I was able to add the host to our vcenter and apply a license to it. I only have setup the VM that will be using Veeam so far. When I try to login to my AD account after joining the VM to the domain, I get the message about the domain being unavailable even though joining the domain appeared to go smooth.
I realized the VM is on a different network in vCenter. I have tried to migrate the VM to the same network that the AD/DC VMs are on but it is not an option. I attached a screenshot that says the destination network is inaccessible. Our infrastructure is fairly simple as we are a small shop/one office. Any suggestions to solve this issue I'm experiencing?

Perché un mio cliente vuole installare 2 server (fisici), ma io pensavo ad una macchina sola con la virtualizzazione.
L?azienda è piccola e non vuole spendere tantissimo, visto che inizia adesso con la nuova avventura.

We want you to discover the latest content that is in development and learn about the potential directions in these designs.
I'm pleased to share the work that my team and I have been working on recently - Architecture and Design for vRealize Suite 2019 -that's applicable over the foundation for both the currently shipping versions of VMware Validated Design 5.1.1 and VMware Cloud Foundation 3.9.1. This early access material covers the architecture and design elements - no implementation guidance is provided at this time - for the use of vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.0.1, vRealize Log Insight 8.0, vRealize Operations 8.0.1, vRealize Automation 8.0.1, and Workspace ONE Access (f.k.a. Identity Manager) and the related management and content packs with a single-region or dual-region SDDC.
You may notice that the design currently uses NSX Data Center for vSphere for the load-balancing of the Workspace ONE Access, vRealize Operations, and vRealize Automation as this is currently used in the management domain for both the VMware Validated Design and VMware Cloud Foundation. Our plan is to convert this over when as we progress in the transition from NSX Data Center for vSphere to a pure NSX-T Data Center based management domain - stay tuned!
Please note that the implementation of the design and the software bill of materials is not fully validated at the time of early access publication. We encourage you to review, comment, and provide your input on the design and even examine it in a proof-of-concept deployment. No assumption should be made that deploying the design on top of the VMware Validated Design 5.1.1 and VMware Cloud Foundation 3.9.1 has been fully validated, nor supported with current or future integrations with SDDC Manager.

vRealize Operations Manager 7.5 Data Retriever is Not Initialized yet
I am testing out this version of Operations Manager in my vSphere 6.7u3 environment. Operations Manager was working fine before I shutdown the virtual appliance in order to save resources while I used HP's Smart Update Manager to update my three ESXi hosts firmware and drivers. These three hosts are not clustered. I've now booted up the Operations Manager appliance. The appliance seems to boot up okay. I can connect to it via https and SSH. I can log into it via SSH. However when I get to the login page for the website, I get the message "Data Retriever is not initialized yet. Please wait...". So I've waited for a day. I've rebooted the appliance. I've searched the docs, KBs, and communities for answers. I've found similar requests for help in communities from 4 years ago. Unfortunately no advice in those requests help in my situation.
Can someone help me get the data retriever to initialize successfully?

vRA 8 - IPAM Integration - Custom Offline Install Package for Infoblox v0.4

Edit: The officially released v1.0.0 includes all dependencies and some much needed improvements (such as only creating fixed addresses). Get it from VMware Solution Exchange .
If you're like me trying to use vRA 8 in an Enterprise behind a proxy you're no doubt banging your head against the wall like I am.
Recently I wanted to try out the Infoblox IPAM integration before I again (just like vRA 7) went the custom implementation route. Unfortunately the installation package requires access to pypi.org to pull down the Python dependencies.
I have compiled a new package for Infoblox IPAM integration based off their v0.4 on the marketplace which contains all dependencies for the package. You can install it exactly the same way as the original package. It is unfortunately quite a bit larger (13kb -> 100+mb).

Be warned that the IPAM Integrations don't seem to follow the proxy-exclude rules though, so if you have a proxy configured because of public cloud, it will likely still not work for you. I have opened an SR for this issue.

ELX_bootbank_elx-esx-libelxima.so conflict between patch baseline and HP custom ISO.
In esxupdate.log when checking compliance in VUM:
ValueError: VIBs ELX_bootbank_elx-esx-libelxima.so_12.0.1108.0-03 and ELX_bootbank_elx-esx-libelxima.so_12.0.1108.0-03 have unequal values of the 'payloads' attribute: '[elx-esx-libelxi: 1602.936 KB]' != '[elx-esx-libelxi: 1493.833 KB]
This is from a host that was installed with the 6.7U2 HPE Custom ISO then patched with the "critical" VUM baseline. It seems the baseline installs a conflicting vib which breaks VUM compliance checks from that point forward.
If I remove the vib with esxcli software vib remove -n elx-esx-libelxima.so, it allows VUM compliance scanning to resume but then the host reports as non-compliant against the critical patch baseline.
Is there a definitive fix for this? Can I somehow blacklist this vib within VUM? We don't even need it -- we don't have this hardware!

java - assign dvportgroup to vm
I must preface this post by saying I know nothing about java programming and have very little experience with the MOR. My experience is with PowerCLI but, one of our java programmers is not having any luck assigning a VM to a dvportgroup. Can anyone help me with the path so they can make the VM to network connection? Thank you in advance.

What aspects of Workstation 11 are incompatible with Windows 10?
I just installed Workstation 11 on a Windows 10 host. When it launched for the first time, Windows gave me an alert that I was running outdated incompatible software for which a newer version was available.
Given the specificness of the message I'm assuming that Windows checked the binary against some sort of compatibility list on first run, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of bulletin from either VMware or Microsoft that I can read on this issue?

not shared folder on centos guest without gui
Hi, i had installed Centos without gui, and install vmware-tools, and reinstall it, because i added shared folders in settings of my virtual machine but i don't see the shared folders in /mnt/hfgs/, which service i need to do it, or is anything else.
- Host : windows server 2012
- Virtual guest: (centos 8 without gui)
in virtual guest with Centos 8 and with gui, i can see shared folders.

Win10.0.16299 on Linux host - "Display Driver failed to start..." How to fix?
Tried to update my Win10 Home virtual machine to 1903 (it had been running 1809). Got most of the way through it, but it finally choked with video driver issues and it will no longer start. I went back to an older saved copy of the VM, Windows 10.0.16299 that was 'clean' and working when I saved it. However, now I am getting the above error message when I open it, along with a note that it is using the MS basic driver, and that I should update the driver. Win10 16299 opens and runs, but in a tiny little box on my 4K screen, and I see no way to expand it.
I am using Workstation Player 15.5.1, and just installed the latest tools for this VM as well. Does this not install the latest video driver for the VM?
Host OS is Linux Mint 19.1 XFCE running on a Dell Precision 7720 and I am using the Nvidia 390.116 driver.
How can I get this to run in a much larger window again? Once I get that fixed, then I'll try to update this older saved VM up to 1903.
I own licenses for VMWare 6, 7 and 8 (full versions), but I let them lapse as I just don't use a VM that much anymore.
