REST Plugin use of Proxy and generated header

Hi

 

Using vRO7 and when I configure REST to use a proxy with basic authentication it seems to fail? (My proxy indicates that no credentials are actually being received and I know the proxy supports this as curl works from vRO appliance shell).

Looking at vRO log files and tcpdump it seems to generate a header of type "Authorization: Basic" but guess I was expecting the header for Proxy authentication to be "Proxy Authorization: Basic" or am I misunderstanding? Just to clarify only proxy authentication is setup - the host authentication is NONE. In fact if I setup basic authentication for both Host and Proxy I seem to get 2 x "Authorization: Basic" headers. If I edit the script and insert set a  header for "Proxy-Authorization" the proxy will authenticate but this is not a solution to all my issues and current thinking is to invoke curl from vRO as this seems to work with all my required use cases :-) Of course just be nice if it worked straight from vRO.

 

Be nice to clarify whether I have misunderstood behaviour or possible bug?

Chciałem się zapytać czy jest możliwość sterowania wyłączaniem systemu w VMWare 6.0.0 Update 2 w przypadku awarii prądu.

 

Mam zasilacz UPS POWERCOM i chciałbym aby w przypadku braku prądu zamykał się VMWare i wyłączał serwer.

 

W przypadku Hyper-V było to proste ponieważ Hyper-V działa w środowisku Windows i jest dostępne odpowiednie oprogramowanie firmy POWERCOM które w przypadku braku prądu zamykało Windows.

 

Jak to zrealizować w przypadku VMWare?

List with VM and NIC type

Hi

 

I have about 60 virtual machines in my vSphere 6 envirement. I want a list of what type of NIC that is in use on the different VM. Is it possible to get this in vCenter, or an other way?

IP Address issue after Rhel 7.x kictstart installation.

Hello,

 

I am using vra 7.0.1

 

I can install Rhel 6.x using kickstart file. Guest agent was successfully installed. Linux hostname and IP address was changed by guest agent. There is no problem on Rhel 6.x.

 

We made same proccess for Rhel 7.0, 7.1. Guest agent was successfully installed, hostname was changed, but IP address was not changed by guest agent.

 

Do you have any idea or experience for RHEL 7.x ?

vROPS Performance Chart

Good afternoon,

Today I received a call from a someone claiming that their virtual machine has high CPU utilization over the past week. In the past, I was able to go into vCenter, click on the VM then click on the performance tab and pull a graph over the last week. (See attached example)

 

I am now trying to pull the same thing out of vROPS 6.0.1. I can't find a simple way to do the same task. Can someone please provide the steps to do this if possible?

Broken on vCenter 6 + VDP 6.1.2

Dear All,

 

We did trying to deployment on vCenter 6 U3 with VDP 6.1.2 however it seem everything is broken up. We are unable to access the VDP on Web Interface.

 

Did anyone having the same issue?

host VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet8 ip address:192.168.18.1,why cant ping 192.168.18.2?

Analyzing ESX-caused kernel panic

We have a Debian 8 VM that enters a kernel panic when booting up on ESXi 6. If I edit the VM settings and change the configure OS from "Debian 7" to "Windows NT" the kernel panic resolves and the VM works fine. This has now happened several times on several different hosts, in some cases before the VM was upgraded and was still running Debian 7; on the other hand, in most hosts (including ESXi 6) the same VM runs fine with no kernel panics.

 

These VMs are running in customer environments, so I'm unable to debug the problem on-line. What could be causing this, and what logs/information should I collect the next time it happens to be able to analyze it effectively?

Does Chromebook folder redirection in Horizon 4.1 actually work ?

Prior to 4.1 support for local drive access / redirection for chromebooks was explicitly excluded .

However the chromebook specific doco for the newly released 4.1 has a section on how to implement / utilise drive / folder redirection. Which infers it is now supported.

However when I try  , it all sets up as per the doco ,  no errors etc , however the drive share doesn't show in the VDI view eg the drive is unselectable thus no content can be read.

I was abit worried when I saw the mention of \\tsclient , given a older terminal server type method.

 

The intent was to have access to a USB memory stick from within the VDI , when accessed via Horizon 4.1 running on Chromebook (chromeOS).

The USB is seen and supported when accessed directly within ChromeOS , and is vsibile for selection in the Horizon App , just not within VDI.

 

Is this meant to work ? 

Has anyone got it to work ?

Problems with Windows 10 Anniversary Update?

I just have upgraded our reference machine, made a new base layer and assigned it to a CVD.
The finalization took ages and since then the laptop is stuck in an eternal loading Windows 10. You just see the Windows 10 logo and the boot animation.

 

I don't want to open a ticket until I am sure what's going on, but has anyone else problems with that update?

Hi all

 

I receive this message(Request rejected due to high request rate. Try again later) very often, when I logoff and login again I cant do anything because of this message "You do not have permissions or the object doesn't exist" in all pages. After OS reboot all start to work again.

Why it happened?
