Hi,
i need to migrate the windows vcenter 6.7 update1 to VCSA 6.7U1. When start the migration assistant on Windows Machine the executable says:
"Migrating from VMware vCenter Server 6.7 to VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.7 is not supported"
How can migrate/convert my Windows Vcenter to VCSA?
Host: 64gb win10
Version: vmware 15 pro
I have 2 VM running windows 7 x64 and each one with 20gb ram memory allocated.
Its right each vm start using those 20gb just to be on without anything runnning, my host goes to 40+gb memory usage just to power on those vm, and inside the vms when i go to task manager the usage is none.
Possible make VM use the allocated ram as needed instead use all ram?
I downloaded the Windows 10 1809 and Server 2019 ISOs the day they became available so I can start working on my templates.
I built the templates with EFI, paravirtual for the C drive and vmxnet3 adapter. I've been using this combo for other versions of windows 10/8/7and windows server 2008r2/2012r2/1016 without issue.
So far Windows 2019 (with desktop experience) seems to be ok at least for a basic vm and guest customization. Haven't tried anything else yet.
Windows 10 1809 on the other hand is very, very slow to reboot after the initial install or even just rebooting after making some changes post install. After installing the OS it took 10-15 minutes for the initial windows setup stuff (user, security settings, etc) to appear . I tried a VM set to BIOS and it seemed faster but was still quite slow. Server 2019 and other versions of windows 10 have no issue.
The hosts are esxi 6.5 and 6.7.
I haven't had a chance to try every combo of BIOS/EFI/vmxnet3/e1000e/paravirtual/lsi sas to see if one is the cause of the issue but was wondering if anyone else had noticed any issues or if it was just me?

Fusion 11 (Pro) doesn't allow me to have a permanent Escape Key and the Function Keys together on the Touch Bar.
When the Function Keys are active, then the Escape Key just cancels the Function Keys and switches back to the poor choice of alternatives that come with Fusion (my brightness is ok, I hardly ever print screens and I don't manage many virtual machines, I want to work efficiently on just a single one.)
I really hope I missed something or this gets corrected with an update soonish!
The Escape Key is (almost) the single most important Key for both Programming and CAD and speed. And the Function keys are also there for speeding up things, too...
I feel like someone want's to punish me for having a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.
Any place to change it?

So, its been a few months since I've needed to access my ESXI Web Gui. But I have a support call and need to boot up my test VM so I can work with it.
But, seems that now with the new browser restrictions, I can no longer open the web gui.
So, I need to know:
1) How do I get access ASAP so I can do my work.
2) Whats the long term fix? I beleive its ESXI v6.5, but at this point I'm really not sure.
Any help on the above would be appreciated.
P.S. - I did try searching, but the search on here didnt give me any results. Sorry if this has already been asked a billion times.

I recently performed the host and datastore migration of some VMs using vMotion in the vSphere Client 5.5 environment. The migrations were successfully completed. VMs are running and no alert or error has been received.
However, I can still see the folder of some VMs navigating in the old datastore. Some folders contain ".VMDK", ".png" and ".log", others contain only ".png" files and others without content.
I need to empty the old datastore, but I'm not sure deleting those folders will damage the migrated VMs.
Can anyone help me with this?

I have been digging for two weeks trying to figure out how to pull the information from VMware Horizon 7 Administrator > Catalog > Desktop Pools > *select a linked clone pool* > Inventory > Machines (View Composer Details) with Powercli. Has anyone already done this?

I can get the Machine name, datastore and status without any issues, but can't see the image/pending image of each individual virtual machine. I've only been able to pull the image/snapshot set for the entire pool with powercli.

Does Control Plane update NSX Controller with the routing tables or just update the DLR if I understood that is right?
Has anyone run across a way to change the business group of an entire deployment? We've had instances where VMs were deployed under the wrong business group and we want to migrate it to the correct business group, but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to change that. It looks like you can go into Managed Machines and individually re-assign the VMs to a different business group / reservation, but the deployment itself seems to stay on the original even after all the VMs have been moved. I feel like that should be a pretty common use case, but I can't find any info on doing it.

Get a design question from our customer. The customer will design 3 clusters, Management, Edge and Compute. Management cluster consumers are vCenter NSX manager and other vRealize components. The customer will connect the Management cluster to the management network only. The edge will be connected to the Payload network and the management network. Do we need connection between the Management cluster and the Payload network. The transport zone is running over the payload network.
I recently cloned my Mac from a 2011 pro to a 2015 pro. I've also updated to High Sierra. My VMWare Fusion is now displaying this error:
"Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.
Please make sure that the kernel module `vmmon' is loaded.
Failed to initialize monitor device."
I've reinstalled Fusion 8.5 and have rebooted several times. I still get this error on my existing virtual machine file, along with any new ones I try to create and open.
What can I do?
vCenter 6.7 fresh vCenter Server Appliance install with an embedded Platform Services Controller on a 6.5 ESXi host.

When I try to log in as root on the VMware Appliance Management web:5480 page using the IP address of the server, I receive the error. Unable to login, NOT the error Unable to authenticate user. I can successfully log in using the console with root credentials. Used a variety of browsers and validated security settings. Any ideas?

I tried to "inline"(or nest) the library insede my plugin bundle:
Bundle-ClassPath: .,myOtherLib.jar
but that also did'nt worked got errors as:

I found a bug in VMware Workstation 15 (latest version), my setup is simple:
Windows XP x64 VM with 3d acceleration enabled. I need 3d acceleration because:
Im just running a Game called "Silkroad Online" in this VM.
Wheneve I teleport into a certain ingame town Workstation just crashes the VM ( see below screenshot ).
I tested following:
running same setup on Win 7 x64, Win 10 LTSB x64, running on a dedicated nvidia gpu and an intel graphics card on 2 different PC and Notebook, it always happens in this town.
I can reproduce this error and Im willing to build a VM for an VMware engineer, please get in touch with me.
I can also attach a .dmp, is this safe here in a open place?
