Tenho um blade da Dell (M1000e) com 2 laminas. Estava rodando o ESXi 5.1 e fiz a atualização em um dos HOSTS para o 5.5 e minhas VMs (mesmo as recém criadas) perdem a comunicação com a rede, ficam limitadas as VM que estão no vSwitch do HOST em questão.
Se migrar as VMs para o 5.1 começam a funcionar, se volto da o problema novamente, consigo fazer a rede funcionar só quando mudo a VM para outro Port Group e volto ( as vezes tenho que fazer 2 ou 3 vezes para começar a funcionar )!
Recentemente apliquei o Update 1 do 5.5 e todos os patchs com o Update Manager.
obs.: VMs já na versão 10, VMware Tools atualizado, problema ocorre tanto com o adaptador E1000 como o VMEXNET 3
Alguém sabe como posso resolver?

ESXi 5.5 U1 freezes Win7 and 2008R2 VMs
We recently upgraded many 5.5 hosts to 5.5 U1. Since then, several VMs with Windows 7 64 Bit or Windows 2008R2 64 Bit guest OS freeze - sometimes twice a week, usually once a day, in extreme cases every hour! Sometimes we see a bluescreen (everytime some other), mostly the OS is just frozen (you see the desktop but it won't respond to mouse/keyboard input). We also had a frozen taskbar (no response to windows key), but the explorer itself (icons on the desktop) did respond. But after a few klicks with the mouse it froze, too. In any cases you have to reset the VM.
These Issues also occoured on a freshly installed 5.5.U1 machine with a freshly installed Win7 VM.
As we couldn't find any problem in the guest OS, we tried to downgrade several hosts to ESXi 5.5 with no updates (build 1331820) by reinstallation last weekend. All problems are gone since 5 days now. On hosts where we didn't yet perform the downgrade/reinstallation, the VMs still freeze.
So 5.5.U1 definitely has a problem. [at lease on Supermicro X9SCM-F mainboards, which we mostly use]
As far as I remember, when we updated 5.5 hosts to build 1892794 we experienced no problems of that kind. But I can't say for sure. We'll try that after my vacation.
Anybody else having problems with 5.5.U1?

New View session does not login to View desktop with AD credentials
Hi,
We are experiencing a problem that we can't find any answer for yet.
We have View 5.3.1 with Windows 8.1 x64 Update 1 on a floating linked clone pool.
When the users log off the desktop, the desktop is deleted immediately as configured in the pool configuration.
We use Windows roaming profiles, since View 5.3.1 doesn't support Persona management on Windows 8.1.
When a standard AD user connects to View with View Windows client, they normally just log on and nothing is wrong.
But in scenarios when the user needs to rapidly log off and on again we are experiencing two issues.
1. When the user try to log on to after just logged off from another session/desktop we get this message:
Is it possibly to avoid this message and confuse users?
2. After the users waits approx 2 minutes, he/she can log on again, but sometimes View doesnt log on the user to the new desktop assigned to the user. Instead the user get the standard local administrator user and wants you to type the password for this account.
We have also disabled restart and shutdown buttons in Windows by GPO, but these functions are available when this happens. This is because the users doesnt get policies from a GPO in the user OU. It seems that View try log on the user with local administrator account instead of the normal AD user.
Is this something with the roaming profile not synced properly in the logoff procedure ?

Webclient is inaccessible with IP address and outside vCenter
Hi all,
Hope you are having gr8 day.
We have recently upgraded from vSphere 5.0 to 5.5. After upgrade everything is working find except Webclient. It is not accessible through the URL: https://ipaddress:9443/vsphere-client with in the vCenter and outside. We are able to access vCenter through https://localhost:9443/vsphere-client. Are we missing something here. Kindly suggest.

Cross domain authentication not working?
Hi Community,
I have run into an issue with the authentication and am confused if this is something I do wrong in our configuration or if this is seen elsewhere as well?
Scenario:
1.One service account for installation used, which has read access to the 3 domains in question. The account itself resides in one of the 3 domains (not sure if this is the root cause for the issue, but somehow doubt it).
2.One tenant setup with 3 identity stores, one for each region and all configured the exact same way;
Issue:
Users not in the same domain as the systems (which is also the same domain as the service account), can't logon. There is no error thrown at the logon screen, after a while of attempting to authenticate, the user is presented again with the logon screen cleared out. If I add accounts, which are not member of a handful of groups, they can authenticate.
As per VMware, the issue with no authentication being possible if a user is member of around 100 nested groups should be solved with the Update 1, which we applied as well.

vCenter CPU performance tab vs Windows Task manager
Hi everyone,
I can see differences between performance monitoring Windows Task manager VS Vcenter realtime CPU monitoring. Please check attached snapshots.
When Windows task manager shows %100 cpu usage, vcenter shows it %25 cpu
Vmtools and VM hardware levels are all up to date.
Do you have and idea why?

Horizon View 6 how to make users to create their own credentials for login ?
Hello all. Here is the scenario I have currently setup:
I have horizon view 6 with Hosted Apps and VMs, in order for my users to login into Horizon View Client, I need to create new user name and password and then give it to user and then he logs in. But on this website myvdi.ru , they have Demo Form where you just enter your email, name, phone and comment, and then you automaticly get your User name and Password for Horizon View Client on your email. Basicly this way is more secure for user because he gets auto generated Credentials and Admin has no way of knowing user's password. So my question how to do same thing? How to make user register on website and get Login Information such as user name and pass on his email for his VM or Hosted Apps without me doing it for them? Thanks.

Server suddenly not reachable. Problem with NIC?
Hey there,
we're running a VMware ESXi 5.1.0 build-1312874 with a Realtek Realtek 8168 Gigabit Ethernet NIC. The Server ran about 265 days without any problems. But last night, the server wasn't reachable for about 20mins. As I said, the server doesnt seem to be crashed or someting, since the uptime command says something different. I didn't see any errors in the error log except the following:

Has anyone already experienced such problem? If you need further information, let me know.

Hello,
I want to join ESXi 5.0 hosts to AD domain. I know how to do it.
But want to know if there will be any effect on the hosts/vms on doing it. Because these 4 hosts are production hosts running live vms.

Host CPU usage above actual capacity?
Can someone help me wrap my mind around something? I've got a host who's current CPU usage in MHz is above it's total capacity. How is this possible??? It's a 16 core (32 logical) system with 2 VMs, both with 8 vCPUs BTW.

How to license a vcenter server free
I've just installed an esxi 5.5 in my physical server, and then I installed the vSphere Client, I assigned the free license which I got in MyVmware -> Free Products Download - > vSphere Hypervisor.
Then I saw that I had to deploy vcenter server appliance, and I did it.
After configuring the vcenter server and the web client I saw a message box on the top of the page of the web client: There are vCenter Server systems with expiring license keys in your inventory.
Then I went back to MyVmware portal to check if there is any license to put there, but I just found a license in the vSpere with Operations Management Product Evaluation Center, but unfortunately this license wasn't for vCenter, but to vOps.
So my question is: Is there a way to license the vCenter Server as a free version ?

Upgrading vCenter 5.0 to vCenter 5.5 and DRS/HA clusters
I have been told that upgrading vCenter 5.0 to 5.5 will affect the clustering of VMs in vCenter and that we need to remove the VMs from the cluster first. However, I have yet to find any information about this. Is this true?

Start fresh with new vCenter 5.5 install vs upgrade?
I've been trying to get my vCenter Server Appliance 5.1 install to migrate to 5.5 OK, but it's giving me headaches. Some interface elements are missing, I can't get consoles to work, etc.
That said, can I just start with a fresh vCenter Server Appliance install 5.5 instead? What settings are even stored within vCenter vs. the individual ESXi host machines? Is this OK to do on a live system?

Workspace 2.0.0 ViewPools error
Hi,
I just upgraded my Workspace 1.8.1 to 2.0.0. Everything seems fine, but when I logged into hw-connetor and select "View Pools", I only get this:
Error
Could not update Org Network.
I am not able to sync desktop pools, thanks to this error.
ThinApps works great.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Calling Scripting Classes vcO
Hello I am just looking for a little help I am kind of new to this stuff but I want to know how to call a scripting class in vCO for a variable. What I want to do is get the total memory of the cluster by adding up all the host. I that there is a scrip class vcHostListSummaryStats which i can get the overall memory of the host. Just looking for a simple way to call that call that class and I can create a for each loop to add all the host

Using Locking in vCenter Orchestrator Workflows
Hi All,
I had an idea today to start sharing some questions/use cases from current implementations of vCO so that more people can benefit from that. I believe that most of the things that I will try to regularly share are documented or explained at various places but broadcasting them again to the community could be helpful.
So, today's use case is related to locking. vCenter Orchestrator provides a locking capability that according to the official documentation is:
"Locking mechanism for automated processes, that allows workflows to lock the resources they use.
The use case is when you might end up with a few sequential request to change the state of an inventory (external system) object.
For example:
Wf1 uses a VM (vm-478) and Wf2 running a few milliseconds has another state for the VM object, cause Wf1 changed something.
This could be especially useful when workflows run in parallel. In such a case, there are example workflows in Library/Locking folder.
The scripting is the following:

No vmkcore disk partition is available
Dear Community,
I have changed my IP addresses on my ESXi 5.1 hosts and I am having some problems. I have 3 ESXi hosts and 1 storage. I am connected the storage using iscsi adapter and I store everything on that storage. The storage is a basic pc which is running FreeNas on it, nothing special.
After I change my hosts' IP and save everything, it will work fine unless I restart my host. If I restart one of the hosts, I will loose all the new changes, it will take back the old IP address. These IP addresses are static and I don't have a dhcp server in this enviroment. 4 machines are connected to a switch, that's all. This is a test lab enviroment so I can play with everything easily. I am getting a conguration issue on the hosts summary screen below.
No vmkcore disk partition is available and no network coredump server has been configured. Host core dumps cannot be saved.
System logs on host LABESXi1.LOCAL are stored on non-persistent storage.
I am not a vmware professional but I understand that there is some kind of a cache file and it cannot be saved anywhere. I can access my storage and run my VMs without any problem.
I don't even know where my previous core dump file was saved before. I have read some articles KB2002955and KB1000328 related this but I couldn't figured them out. I think I need some hints 
I've tried to setup a Network coredump using my storage but I am getting an error related the connection. I don't know how it will connect using port 6500 anyway.
Am I on the right track? Does anyone has an easier solution?
