Just starting to look into the VCP 4 certification; need some advice

Hello everyone,

I am interested in obtaining my VCP 4 certification.  I am

looking for some recommendations regarding studying materials.  I keep

reading about this "blueprint" that sounds like it is a must.  I

downloaded the blueprint but I am confused about where to start reading.

Should I just click each link on the blueprint and that should cover

everything?  I found another link that took me to the VMware Sphere Online

Library.  http://pubs.vmware.com/vsp40_i/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=intro/c_vmware_infrastructure_components.html

Should I just read this?  Will it cover

all of the topics in the blueprint?  I guess I am just a little bit

confused on where to start and how to obtain the reading materials to make sure

I cover everything in the blueprint.

Would you recommend any outside reading materials?  Or is that a

waste of time?  I have been working in the IT industry for the last 9

years.  I have my MCTS and my CCNA; so I have somewhat of a solid

foundation.  I have been working in a VMware virtualized environment the

last two years.  I work with VMware occasionally but only performing basic

task(snapshots, creating new servers, etc...).

I don’t have too much experience with working with ESX server.

Would a book be a good idea?

Any recommendations for practice test?  I heard VMware has a solid

online practice test.

Any ideas or comments in regards to preparing for the test?

Thank you so much for your help.  I am eager to get started!  I

just need a little guidance on how to get started!  I want to make sure I

prepare the right way.
