Trying to configure Workspace. Stuck at SMTP required prompt.

0. I've got SMTP set up on my DC, and I can telnet "DC.fabrikam.com 25" and have it produce the following (correct): http://screencast.com/t/m04y5Qui

1. I've got my Horizon Workspace VMs unpacked in ESXi and ready to rock.

2. I've started the Vapp collection and the Configurator-va is running.

3. Configurator asks for my SMTP server, I tell it "dc.fabriam.com" at port 25.. and .. I get this:

"Please enter a valid SMTP server."

Its valid. It works with other apps.

What am I doing wrong.. what is my SMTP server *NOT* saying that this is expecting?
