I just have a general question regarding the virtualization of a machine onto an ESXi host using VMWare vCenter Converter Standalone. The only way we have been able to virtualize a physical server/machine onto an ESXi host successfully is to place the ESXi host's MGMT NIC on the same network as the machine we are trying to virtualize. Is there a reason for this? Is it possible to use another available NIC on the host (other than the MGMT NIC) to virtualize a machine?
If you need any more information, let me know. Thanks.
