Hi,
I've noticed the following (serious) problem with Fusion 5.0.3, Mac OS X 10.8.4 and Excel 2013 in a Windows 7 VM. Everything worked without problem until we upgraded Mac Os X to release 10.8.4. Since then, if we click the "Browse" button inside the "Computer" view of Excel to open a file into a shared folder, the whole virtual machine crashes. Vmware Fusion shows the dialog box telling that Windows has been stopped to avoid serious system damage.
Note that:
1) I've already tryed to disable/re-enable shared folders
2) I've already re-installed VMWare Tools in Windows guest
3) If I open files from Explorer in Windows, also browsing Shared Folders, everything works correctly and files got opened.
4) The problem is repeatable
5) Vmware Logs shows a SIGNAL 11 killed vmware-vmx. Stack trace tells there's been a problem in connection with HGFS service (which is, correctly, the Host Guest Filesystem service)
6) We started noting this problem after Mac OS X upgrade to 10.8.4; before everything seemed to work correctly.
7) The host Mac is an iMac with Intel Core i5 and 16 GB ram memory. The VM is a 64-bit VM with 4 GB ram assigned. There's space free on both hard-disks (host vs guest vmdk).
Is there anyone who can help me ? Or anyone who is experiencing the same problem ?
Thank you,
Luca Lazzeroni
