I am quite new to VMware and certification (I'am Microsoft Certified by the way). I was wondering why the VI3 : Install & Configure is required for becoming an VCP. In the current economical crisis, I would be great, If I were able to it with self-study. I would save me and my company a lot of money. Just buy a good book, practice @home, and take the exam 
. This is possible for example at Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix certification, why does VMware require a (on-line) course
