Change New Virtual Machine Defaults

I have a powershell script that uses Plink to add some lines to the etc\VMware\config file so that new VMs will default to enabling the ability to hot add memory and CPU, as well as enabling the installation of VMware Tools upon reboot.  I can run this script against a list of ESXi hosts, but what I'd like to do is apply this to an advanced settings on the host through vCenter, and then use that host as a reference for a Host Profile.  It doesn't appear that I can change these Default VM settings from within the host profile configuration.  Is there a way to do this with a Host Profile?  Perhaps changing something within the Database???  Or is running this script against all the hosts my only option?  Applying this to a VM template isn't an option in our environment.  The preference would be to have this as part of a host profile.

Thanks.
