Hello all,
Quick question - I know CCNA R&S is an acceptable certification to serve as a requirement for VCP6-NV, but I am considering going for the CCNA Cloud certification instead. Will this work?
Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

My OS Windows 10 1809 x64
I wanted to install Vmware Workstation 15 trial and I did not install it.
It says that CPU does not meet requirements.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.637Hz
Ram: DDR3 kingston 4 GB
I appreciate information on this matter
I am trying to install ESXi 6.0 on my system, but the installer fails to boot with error:
Chipset Initialization Failed.
Is intel skylake processor not supported for esxi 6.0?
CPU: Intel i5 6600K
Chipset: Intel Z170
I will add USB device to a VM also we use Drs on vCenter. what is your suggestion? if I move the virtual machine to another ESXi host USB connection breaks?
I use vCenter 6.5 u2
We're updating our GEN10 HPe servers and we're getting errors now.
I've attached a screen shot, but we're seeing
[device] I/O module 1 ALOM_Link_P4
This wasn't here until we did the firmware upgrade on the server, and we had nothing but problems with the old firmware dropping connections to VMs, and causing network hell.
We obviously don't want warnings showing up, suggestions?
When I try to add a vcenter in the the web ui. I get the following error
The certificate with thumbprint [EE:DD:CC:BB:AA:11:22:33:44:55:66:77:88:99:00:ZZ:YY:XX:WW:VV], provided by your vCenter is not valid due to error: "sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target"
Press "CONTINUE" if you would like to proceed adding the vCenter with invalid certificate.
However if I continue it will not accept the vcenter credentials. Anyone have any ideas here ? I have verrified the user and password used do allow this user to log into vcenter .
I even applied the 2.0.0.2 upgrade to see if this resolved the issue and it did not.
* I obscured the real thumbprint .
Hello guys,
Does anyone know how to stop the emails of a new VMware Skyline Operational Summary Report being ready for download? I don't want these emails, I log on to Skyline when I feel like it to check it out.
Thanks!
I have been using unity mode for years in all prior versions of VMWare workstation. Can't live without it.
After upgrading to 15, it has been a problem. I go to my start menu and expect the unity mode menu to fade into focus. When I am remote into my PC, 8 out of 10 times the menu button doesn't appear. I have to click around the start area a dozen or more times for it to fade into focus or exit unity mode and re-enter it.
I've tried resetting the colors and turning it off/on but still doesn't appear consistently. Is there a fix for this?
Also, UM keeps exiting itself for no rhyme or reason. If there's a way to stop that behavior, please let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
I have tried many different ways of getting this working now for the last few days. I was hoping to reach out to the experts this time as I keep coming back to a error . I am following the video posted below from VMware. I have seen mention that this might be due to a network share which it looks like I am trying to load from before getting the error below. These a managed Windows 10 OS managed by our company. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I would be happy to help

Hello,
We are using usb redirection instead CDR.
Until View Horizon Client 4.9, we were able to make disappear the menu "Shared folders" in "Options" by adding the registry key "ForcedbyAdmin=true" and it also disabled CDR popups.
But the behavior changed with 4.10 .... the menu is still in the options and the client asks if we want to do a CDR share like user folder and suchs.
Is there a correct way to make disappear again the "Shared folders" options and the CDR popup at login with Horizon View Client 4.10?
Thank you!
______________________________________________
Use Registry Settings to Configure Client Drive Redirection
To prevent the client from sharing additional folders (that is, folders that are not specified with the default shares key), create a string value named ForcedByAdmin and set its value to true.
HKLM\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware TSDR\ForcedByAdmin=true
When the value is true, the Sharing dialog box does not appear when users connect to the remote desktop in Horizon Client. The value is false (clients can share additional folders) by default.
How to change the BIOS UEFI to Lagecy Bios of a virtual machine in VMware workstation player 12?
However I am able to change via VMware workstaion which is a trial version. So for long time use I have to use vmware workstation which is free for my learning purpose.
Latest Fusion. I deleted all but the last snapshot that was taken, I cannot find a way to delete this one. I do not need it and want to free up the space it is taking.
This seems like a issue, date/time is correct if I logon to the console of the appliance within vsphere but if I login to the VAMI site, and check for updates it has the day of the week wrong as well as the date. For clarity I checked for updates this AM and applied the 2.0.0.2 update.
I have followed the VCSA installation guide from [1]. Everything was fine till Step 12. What I saw was that the progress bar reached 99% with the "validation" message and then I only saw two button "cancel" which was disabled and "close" which was blue. So, I only had to click on close.
However, it seems that there are some more steps. What is wrong here?

Hi ,
We have been using vGPU's for a long while now ( P4's - M60's - K2's ).
However we are NOW just heading into Instant Clone Territory.
Did i hear correctly that we have to use Dedicated IC's for vGPU's ?.. or are Floaters ok ?
We will be using Win 10 rev 1803 probably ( is 1810 being forced on us yet ? )
Anyone have any Advice for getting vGPU's working w/ Instant Clones ?.
Trying to figure out how the POOLS would be designed ?
One Pool Per Card Type Per Profile ?
We try to only have One Profile per Card.. makes life easier .
However we Do use M60's and P4's.
Granted the M60's and P4's DO use the dame driver i believe atm.
So in that case would I have one Pool per Q profile ?
So a new pool for users that have either a P4 or M60 but all have a 2q profile lets say ?
Users with a 4Q would require their own pool ?
Anyone know of Docs Specifically for getting Instant Clones to work with vGPU's ?
Thank you ,
We use viewdbchk every now and again to cleanup pools in Horizon, when the View Admin console is having issues doing such. Just like everyone else. However, since the move to 7.3.2, we can't seem to run it.
According to the release notes there was a change:
This is fine, we know what credentials to use. When we run the command though ("viewdbchk --removeMachine --machineName Xyz --noErrorCheck"), and are prompted for our service account password for vCenter (https://vcenter.fqdn:443/dsk) and for Composer (https://composer.fqdn:18443), when we enter, no characters show not even masked (this might be by design), and when we hit enter to confirm anyway, we are greeted with "ERROR: Cannot get password for user "service_account".
We know the password, we even tested it separately. Anything we can provide within the command differently perhaps?
Thanks in advance.
While adding a vCenter 6.5 server to skyline I got the following error:
Couldn't create collection task to test endpoint -> java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't loging the client -> Cloudn't login to the client -> General Failure -> internal server error.
DNS has been checked and we tested using a read only user as well as an administrator user.
I am working on getting my old 5.5 scripts to work with our newish 6.5 environment. The scripts create several vSwitches on each host and enable jumbo frames on them, and this works with no issues. However, when I try to enable jumbo frames on vmk0 on vSwitch0 my script stops executing. When I log into the web interface I can see the MTU has been changed, but eventually the script times out. Making this change in 5.5 caused no issues with the script. Does anyone have any suggestions? I guess I could leave jumbo frames disabled, but the links for the management interfaces are just carved up bandwidth coming in from the 10GB trunks being used for the vDS and other vSwitches. Does it really make a difference if I have different MTU's on vSwitches even though everything is coming over the same links, just different NICs? These hosts are HP blades with the management NICs being on the Mezz cards and the other NICs coming from the internal NICs.
Hi, I'm using workbench installation helper to install staf on my VMs, the storage certification guide says I am suppose to install STAF on the vcenter vm.
However, I get the following error:
I've also tried changing default login shell to bash, but then I receive this error on staf install attempt:
