Just passed the VCP 65. DCV exam (2V0-622). Even though I passed I am disappointed with the exam. Normally I score between 370 - 420 on VCP exams, but only received a 320 on this exam.

Whoever wrote the exam must like Trivia Pursuit because many of the questions were pure trivia. It's like they went through the vSphere documentation and pulled out the most trivia of information and put it into a question. The worst part if that I believe the Exam Prep guide (vmw-vcp65-dcv-2v0-622-guide.pdf) is pretty useless. Whoever wrote the exam should have followed it a lot better.

I have over ten years of hands on experience, am VCAP 6.0 DCV Deploy Certified and certified VCP in 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 5.0, 5.5 & 6.0. I also printed out Vladan SEGET's extire VCP6.5-DCV STUDY GUIDE and went through it thoroughly. Yet, I only scored 320. :-(

In my opinion, this exam is not a true measure of what a VCP must know. The only thing that an exam like this will accomplish is make exam dump sites richer.

Hello, I got my first VM up and running with win server 2016 using the CD pointing to the ISO file. I then installed SQL server. Now I am trying to load some old trial software from CD. So I changed the VM to use the physical host CD drive (screen print) rather than pointing to ISO. It seems the VM will not Power On after the change. I've done everything I can thing of including rebooting the host. I tried to change settings back to the original ISO setup but it also tells me it can not make those changes because of current state. I have no way of powering on the VM. The exsi 6.7 host is up and not in maint mode or anything. I'm new with VMware, any ideas? Is there something wrong with my CD config below?
At this point I would be fine with just getting back to where I was (with CD pointing to ISO) and have the VM run again.

I recently cloned my Mac from a 2011 pro to a 2015 pro. I've also updated to High Sierra. My VMWare Fusion is now displaying this error:

"Could not open /dev/vmmon: No such file or directory.

Please make sure that the kernel module `vmmon' is loaded.

Failed to initialize monitor device."

I've reinstalled Fusion 8.5 and have rebooted several times. I still get this error on my existing virtual machine file, along with any new ones I try to create and open.

What can I do?

We have recently deployed vRops and have integrated with Log insight. We are noticing a lot of error events and couldn't find the root cause for it.

Below is the error sample

Kindly help me to install a application on vCenter guest OS using rest API.

I need to install SQL server 2012/2016 and office 2016 in guest OS using the API to configure the VM through VMware vRealize orchestrator (VRO).

in the existing environment we are using power shell scripts/run script in guest OS workflow but now i am planning to install SQL server using rest API of the content library.

I have VMware Workstation Player running on Centos7. The CentOS host has a Realtek RTL 8111/8168/8411 NIC driver installed and is running fine at 1Gbps. I installed a Ubuntu 18.04.1 VM and configured the NIC as a bridged connection in VMware. The NIC within Ubuntu is only working at 10 Mbps and the driver that is installed is listed as 79c970 [PCnet32 LANCE]. How do I get the Ubuntu VM to see the NIC as 1 Gbps?

From the doc "docs.vmware.com...52590ADCCF.html", I could find machine and software components examples with respect to binding properties, but I didn't get necessary information on XaaS blueprint binding.
I need to create a composite blueprint with two XaaS blueprints, one with an output and another one with an input. But, I couldn't find a way to associate the output of one with the input of the other.
How to achieve this?

It has been a few days of trying to configure my Skyline appliance.

I am getting stuck at the linking of my account step.

Followed the referenced link to https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2006983

Not really useful information, but I did check and validate I can log in to MyVMware without an issue, and still have full administrative privileges on the account for my company.

Not much else is listed.

How do I proceed?

Not product related, but forum related.

So I wanted to get notified of all posts since I rarely go online to the web-page to check. Anyway over the past week there have been lots of SPAM type submissions. You clean them from the online portal well, but can you please reduce the number of emails that go out - have people check over registrations, or approve posts, or something.

I am the Technical Account Manager for Polaris Alpha. They got the welcome email a couple weeks ago and have tried to deploy the product. When they try to add their My.VMware account they get an error message saying they do not have entitlement.

The account in question is Sean.Jabro@polarisalpha.com.

Can this account please be whitelisted as soon as possible? We have requested this in SocialCast and in #slack and just finding out that we have to make the request here too.

trying to down OSR and I am getting login loop. this is the correct link - https://vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery.

i login with my.vmware.com login credentials and it takes me to VMware Skyline login page, i click on "log in" and it just keeps taking me back to login page.

Network connectivity fails with the following error:

Do i still need a proxy even though we dont block outbound traffic form the appliance vlan?

Hello, I'm running into an issue trying to deregister a collector. I initially deployed Skyline in our dev environment and after confirming it worked, deployed it on production. Now i'm attempting to decommission the dev install, and when I attempt to deregister the collector, it just spins at deregistering, but doesn't do anything. Then the collector interface times out / logs me out after some time. Is there another way to get things deregsitered, or is there a way for me to remove it from the skyline portal?

Hello,

During step 2 of VCHA deployment, I configure IP network addresses for vCenter HA network. I would like to use 255.255.255.240 subnet mask for my HA Vlan but after deployment, the configuration is 255.255.255.0.even if the 255.255.255.240 or prefix length 28 where entered.

Can I change the HA subnet after HA deployment as a workaround ?

Hi, just installed my Skyline collector last week; today when I logged on to look at the Advisor I can see the collector and my 2 vCenters but Proactive Findings says "There is no finding available for this account". I have at least one "last analysis"; the "next analysis" still says it was supposed to be this morning even though it's now this afternoon. If I have analysis but no findings, is that "everything is fine", or a sign that something is wrong?
